Two young persons abducted by kidnappers in Kwara State have been rescued by security agents.
The rescued victims are 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and Ibrahim Azeez who is five-year old.
A security team comprising operatives of Department of Security Service (DSS) and forest guards rescued two victims on Thursday
A report by the DSS and local authority said the rescue operation took place at the hideout of the kidnapers in a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire area of isin/ Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the state.
The reported stated that the security team while carrying out the rescue operation eliminated two armed bandits who are members of the kidnap group.
It said other members escaped from the hideout with severe injuries.
The security team also recovered several items from the kidnappers, including one Ak-47 rifle; one single barrel; one fully loaded magazine with nine empty; mini-solar panel; and food items.
The rescue operation is connected to the multi-agency counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts of the government.
