The people of Obbo-Ile community in Kwara State have urged the federal government action on construction of the Osi-Obbo-Ile-Eruku-Egbe road  

The road that stretches between Kwara and Kogi State has over the years been in a bad state creating difficulty for motorists to ply.

The President of Obbo-Ile Progressive Association, Comrade John A. Fashikun, while speaking on behalf of the community said the poor condition of the road has continued to affect economic activities, movement and transportation within the communities.

He lamented that motorists  frequently trapped in the road and that travelling through the road had become scary.

The President said that his association, the traditional rulers  of the affected Communities, forum and individuals had been drawing the attention of the Federal and the Kwara State Governments to the deplorable condition of the road for more than five years.

He said  that the construction of the road would improve connectivity and support the socio-economic development of the areas.

Fashikun who said that the government had approved the take-off of work on the road urged it to direct the appropriate department to start work without any further delay.

He said good road network is part of the infrastructure that would engender development urging government to fix the road so that development of the affected communities can be promoted.

Fashikun, who praised the present administration on multiple projects facilitated, maintained that the road would ease not only transportation but also improve security along these Community routes.

He said that the road is vital to life and wellbeing of the communities and urged the government and relevant authorities to give the road urgent attention it deserves.
