The second National Food Security Summit of the the Youth Farmers Organization for Agricultural Development in Nigeria (YFOADN) has been scheduled to take place in Abuja on November 25, 2026.
The summit is being organised by the YFOADN in partnership with the Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)
The two organisations resolved to partner for the holding of the summit to promote commercial agricultural practices among the youths in the country.
The partnership followed a courtesy and advocacy visit by YFOADN leaders to NALDA’s Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo to strengthen institutional collaboration on youth agricultural empowerment, sustainable food production and national food security.
The summit is expected to attract about 500 participants, including young farmers from across the country, government representatives, development partners, agricultural experts, private-sector investors and other stakeholders.
According to the organisers discussions will focus on access to agricultural land, modern farming techniques, mechanisation, financing, agribusiness development and market access for young farmers.
YFOADN National President, Abdulrahman Umar Etudaye, expressed appreciation to NALDA for its willingness to collaborate with the organisation, describing the development as an important step towards expanding opportunities for young Nigerians in agriculture.
He said the summit would provide a national platform to assess agricultural development initiatives, promote investment in youth-led agribusinesses and develop practical recommendations to improve food production and rural livelihoods.
The YFOADN disclosed plans to seek the continued participation of Dangote Group in the 2026 summit, building on the relationship established during the inaugural edition held in November 2025, which the Group attended.
The organisation said it recognised Dangote Group’s contributions to Nigeria’s industrial development, particularly its investments in the fertiliser and food-production value chains, which are important to the country’s food security objectives.
It said a renewed engagement with the Group would sustain the existing relationship and create opportunities for further collaboration in youth agricultural empowerment, agribusiness development and food security.
YFOADN expressed optimism that Dangote Group’s participation in the forthcoming summit would strengthen engagement between the private sector and young farmers while encouraging increased investment in agricultural productivity and related value chains.
It reaffirmed its commitment to working with NALDA, Dangote Group, government institutions, development partners and other private-sector stakeholders to promote youth empowerment, agricultural innovation and sustainable food security in Nigeria.
