Customs boss tasks personnel in Kwara area command on professionalism

Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has charged personnel at the Kwara State Area Command of the service to always remain responsible in their conduct both on and off duty.

The customs boss cautioned the personnel against involvement in illicit drug traficking and sharp practices.

Adeniyi who spoke in a goodwill message to the command urged the personnel to safeguard the core values of the service.

The customs boss who spoke through the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs (ACG) and Zonal Coordinator for Zone ‘B’, Nsikan Patrick Umoh,  encouraged the personnel to foster unity as a family working towards shared goals.

Ummoh delivered the Goodwill message of her boss during her official oversight visit to the Area Command’s Headquarters in Ilorin as part of her ongoing tour of operational commands within the zone “B”

The ACG, while speaking on her observations about the command,

commended the leadership and personnel of the command for their exemplary conduct, discipline, and dedication to duty.

The Zonal Coordinator revealed that since assuming office, her headquarters had not received a single adverse report against the Kwara Area Command. 

She noted that this clean operational record reflects the high level of professionalism and integrity embedded in the command’s daily operations.

In his address of welcome, Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller N.A. Ogundeyi, outlined the key achievements, operational milestones, and administrative successes recorded by the command under his leadership.

As part of the visit, the Zonal Coordinator hosted an interactive session with key trade stakeholders, including leadership from freight forwarding associations, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), and representatives from major excise factories,  during which she praised the synergy between the command and the trading community.

She addressed stakeholder concerns regarding cargo clearance procedures, examination timelines, and regional trade competitiveness, providing clear and detailed responses that were warmly received by the trade representatives.

The visit concluded with a facility tour, during which ACG Umoh inspected the Command’s administrative offices, warehouse, and residential barracks, and  expressed satisfaction with the level of order, environmental cleanliness, and discipline observed.
