The 2026 Tax Club Quiz competition in Kwara State has reached the final stage with six schools participating at the stage
The schools emerged victorious at the semi-final stage of the competition to vie at the final for a prize of N2.5million.
The competition is annually organised by the Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), in collaboration with the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development
It is organised with a vision to raise tax-compliant citizens and promote tax education among the younger generation.
The six schools that would be competing at the final comprise two from each of the three Senatorial district of the state.
They are Oro Grammar School, Oro and Ansar-u-deen College, Offa (Kwara South); Government Secondary School, Lafiagi and Government Secondary School, Ilesha Baruba (Kwara North); and St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Ilorin, and Ebenezer High School, Ilorin (Kwara Central).
Head, Corporate Affairs Department of the KWIRS, Funmilola Oguntunbi said, in a statement, that the semi-final stage of the competition from where the six finalist emerged was conducted via an online Computer Based Test (CBT), involving twelve schools that participated from the comfort of their respective schools.
She added that the exercise was conducted with appropriate back-end monitoring by members of the KWIRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee alongside the representative of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Aina Bose Eunice.
Oguntunbi disclosed that the final of the competition was scheduled to hold in Ilorin on Wednesday, 4th November, 2026.
